Monday, November 03, 2003 Unstoppable I went on a savage rampage today. A shopping rampage that is. Well, it wasn't meant to start out that way, but in the end... Oh what the heck. I met Sean this morning for a karaoke session at KBox at Paradiz Centre. Damn. I actually met Yifei (my platoon mate) and this other person that I haven't been on speaking terms for almost 5 months there. Wanted to avoid them at first, but as fate would have it, Yifei actually SAW me, and came over to say hi. Haha... plan failed. Being the "professional" actor that I am, I just shrugged and actually managed to have a fairly decent conversation with him, sans the other person. He was already in the lounge, I think. Anyway, I don't really care. And naturally being a "professional", I went to bid him goodbye when our session ended. LOL. The singing session was kinda fabulous. Only towards the end, I think. That is because Sean has become such a cheenafied bitch that he only wanted to sing Chinese pop songs, and I got kinda pissed off at first. Not really at him, but because there was a SERIOUS shortage of English songs. They don't even have a single Mariah number! Except Thank God I Found You. But that doesn't really justify it, does it? Anyway, I soon picked up the cheenafied mood, and went along. HAHA. Apparently, it wasn't that bad after all. Hehe... But I doubt I'll return in the near future. It's only economically cheap on weekday mornings (we paid only about $10 each for 3 hours), and I don't have any more weekday offs to spare in the next couple of months. Definitely not going there on the weekend. Give me Detention Class anytime! After that session, we went to Heeren. Initially we only wanted to get meself a t-shirt, and Sean, a pair of cargoes. In the end, I got my t-shirt (at a higher price that expected, cuz I didn't get the discounted items) and I also got a similar pair of the cargoes that Sean wanted, only in a different colour. Anyway, Sean didn't have any money, so I paid for his pair as well. Then, we went to POA, and I got this pair of shoes that were rather unique to match my cargoes. That already amounted to about $160++. I also got some new socks, and following that we went for SATC style coffee and afternoon tea at Delifrance. Talk about being posh! Hah! More good news. We went to visit Elaine at Calvin Klein, and we found out that she has got staff discount of 40% for Club 21! Which definitely means more shopping in the weeks to come. Hah, talk about being on a budget. I totally flopped my vow. Darn. To save some money, I followed Sean home to AMK cuz he recommended me this salon at his place that cuts and washes hair for just 4 bucks. (It is done by the trainees, thus explaining the low cost. Apparently Sean had gone for a cut last week, and it turned out quite alright. So I didn't mind giving it a try. After all, it's 4 bucks!) Wow, it was really a supersaver! Alas, the DAMN salon was closed! Sickening asshole! I actually made a wasted trip, and I had to spend more money cutting my hair at the salon at my place. *heaves an exasperated sigh* So all in all, I spent $*** (quite a LOT) today. And we're actually going shopping at the army market next Saturday for some really cheap Adidas sneakers. And then there was this top at Topshop that I saw... And I also wanted to get a new Swatch cuz the one that I have is cracked on the surface, and I can get a new one at a trade-in of 40%... And there're also some books that I need to read... Plus all the coffee sessions and fine dining experiences that I'm gonna have in the coming weeks... I think I'll have wiped out my account by then. And I'm still infuriated that my debit card hasn't arrived yet! It's already been 2 weeks! And it was stated on the application form that the process would only take 2 weeks! Oh darn. I think I need a prescription for addiction to shopping. Gv complained @ 8:29 PM {xoxo} |
