Wednesday, September 22, 2004 Mood: Accomplished Song: Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing I feel like getting an Apple Powerbook G4 now! Argh... sorta regretted getting my Toshiba, but then again, I might get easily frustrated if I had got the Apple Powerbook cuz of incompatibility problems and my patience is really tracing paper thin. I guess the only reason why I want it is a damn superficial one. Its interface is damn sleek. That's ALL. There, I've said it. Call me bimbo/himbo/whateverbo if you want. Don't really care. Had Jennifer Lewis from Channel i news as a guest lecturer on Monday. Thought she was quite humorous, especially the willingness to laugh at herself, which isn't really easy considering that she might have to switch jobs now that MediaWorks and MediaCorp (my friend calls it Media Corpse) have signed a merger. Oh well, journalism is already running continuously through her blood, and she's a veteran, so she shouldn't have any problems with regards to career prospects. Finished interviewing the required people from Julia Gabriel's speech school today, Francesca (nice lady), Mary Lee (Urgh... merely gave one-sided views, but transcribing her interview was damn funny), and 2 other teenagers (who I felt that their testimonies weren't really insightful, but Irwin and Shimin thought otherwise. Oh well.). Gotta meet up with the rest of the group tomorrow to do some last minute coding and get started on our report. Presentation's next week! And knowing the proscratination that we always get up to during project discussions... I think we'll have to individually work through the weekend. Oh, WTH, as long as the final thing's done... it'll be fine. (I hope.)... And there's still the bloody press release, which we will have to somehow or rather figure it out. I have no clue as to how to go about writing it!!! Went Orchard earlier, and there was like this mooncake frenzy at Takashimaya. People were like scrambling to get free samples of mooncakes, the cheapo Singaporean mentality. But I have to admit, some of the flavors were damn nice. Haha... should persuade my mom to get some boxes of specialty mooncakes. So sick of the double yolk whatever kind. And I've never liked the lotus paste. So sweet and urgh. Ooh, Amazing Race finale today! Gotta go sit in front of the goggle box now. Or I doubt it will ever be. But then again, I am not really anticipating. Rather, I hope that things would get to a headstart especially with my 2 current projects and my digital television essay. I don't wish to go into desperado mode at all during this semester. Oh well, perhaps during the finals? But definitely not at this point of time. It seems so irresponsible and slack, and that is so not me. (or rather, so not me at this teeny weeny itsy bitsy second. Bah.) Procrastination is one big hell of a raging demon. Must find some workable slaying method to exterminate it. Was at the University Cultural Center at NUS last night for the Rhapsody finals. Such a pity that Colin didn't win the top prize, but at least he got into the top 5, which is rather commendable. Haha. Thanks to us, the blatant voters, and also the invisible nonexistent voters that somehow materialized out of our pens onto the voting slips. :) Anyway, I'm sure that guy won't give up as yet, so there'll be many more opportunities for him to shine. There's also the Impressario auditions in December, which I'm sure he has already set his mind to attend. But all in all, I must say that the contestants were all quite impressive, athough there were a couple of wannabes-who-can-never-make-it-so-why-are-they-there-in-the-finals, and their so deluded supporters. Even saw one loud beng-wannabe from the Toni & Guy hair show in the audience. *rolls eyes* Received an email from Corinne today commenting about my group's project proposal for CS111. Urgh. Just when my opinion of her has started to swerve towards the "neutral" side since last Friday, it is somewhat reverting back to the "whatever, can't stand her" side. But I guess she has a point sometimes, and after all she's a first-class honors student. WTH. :( Anyway, will be meeting with the vice-principal of some unknown (no one has informed me the name) school this Friday at Ginza plaza (or whatver it's called) to present the proposal. Which gives me a burning question to ponder: Why is the vice-principal playing truant in his own school??! Oh well, will find out soon enough. Ooh, and there's Sicong's bbq thingy on Friday too. I think I need to indulge in some junk food. Too many people are commenting that I have lost weight and look anorexic. What the hell??! I need some weight! And I don't wanna encounter any unsolvable difficulties when buying clothes especially if they are way too damn baggy. Off to binge now... Gv complained @ 9:46 PM {xoxo} Friday, September 03, 2004 Mood: Tired Song: Jay Chou - Ge Qian It has been a tiring week at school, although there weren't much happenings that are worthy to boot about. There was the Singapore 21 presentation on Wednesday, and surprisingly Corinne was rather amicable, and her usual lame jokes actually took a backseat that day. I guess perhaps she's received too many hate mails, or seen us imitating her and laughing away at her along the hallways. Oh well, time for an attitude change! I'm looking forward to the recess in a week's time. Really need a break from all that long hours in school. But I guess there's some catching up to do in terms of readings and project interviews. Need to get started on that damn research report, advertising essay and presentation materials. But for now... time to sleep. It's the weekend, and I won't let it fly back without doing anything substantial. Gv complained @ 6:47 PM {xoxo} |
