Reality check

IPhO was indeed an eye-opener.
Never thought I'd see so many delegates from all over the world. (A total of 86 countries). Reminds me of how myopic I am, that I've never heard of countries like Azerbaijan Republic. Until that fateful day at the airport. And that was when a certain delegate from that place left a deep impression on us.

The whirlwind of activities was also an adrenaline rush for the journalist in me.
Having to rush for production every night just to meet the newsletter printing deadline for distribution the next morning.
Having to jostle for seats on the tour buses.
Having to find a balance between PR and news values.
Having the opportunity to meet and interview 4 Nobel Laureates and one Templeton Prize winner.
Having good food from day one.

10 days. 10 newsletters.

I am thankful.
